Van Morrison fan returns, but puzzled - ten times over

After being energised by my first Van Morrison show in several years, in Cardiff on Midsummer’s Day, I attempted to catch up with all the product and other stuff I’d missed.

But I ended up puzzled, ten times over:

1. why isn’t Astral Weeks Live DVD available from anywhere other than US amazon?

2. why have there been very few Van CD titles available to buy online or in-store for the last few years?

3. what happened to the remasters programme? How good are the LPs which have appeared? How interesting are the bonus tracks?

4. why are so few on iTunes?

5. is the DVD of the St Luke’s/LSO gig launching KIS, that I spied on a market stall recently, an official release? (I haven’t seen it anywhere else.)

6. why were THREE (excellent) compilation albums released in such a short period?

7. when did Ned leave the band?

8. when did the on-stage red digital clock disappear?

9. what happened to Van’s official website?

10. what happened to the unofficial twin pillars of Van consumer info – Hayward and Wavelength? (I’m aware of John Gilligan’s blog site).

Any tips on any of the above will be appreciated.

Forgive me if this stuff is common knowledge - I haven’t checked in to vanfan web sites for some time.

Gerry Smith
