01/08/2005 Edinburgh Jazz Festival highlights - Moishe Bagel
Thanks to reader Derek Bean, who reports from Edinburgh Jazz Festival: “The energetic 5 piece band Moishe Bagel appeared at the Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival last night with their distinctive Balkan music fused with multifarious influences. “In The Hub, one of Edinburgh’s finest venues, pianist Phil Alexander led the band in a series of fast-paced tunes that worked well and lifted the appreciative audience into high spirits. “The violin of Greg Lawson worked well with the bass, percussion and accordion to deliver a rich sound. “Moishe Bagel are currently touring the UK and I would recommend Music for Grown-Ups readers to give them a listen. Their first CD has just been released.” Info: www.moishesbagel.co.uk/
