23/10/2004 The Rough Guide to Bob Dylan
Phil Davis writes: This autumn has seen quite a few books hitting our shelves about Mr Dylan. Chronicles has been widely reviewed/done to death (I loved it). Lyrics doesn`t need a review. The Rough Guide to Bob Bob Dylan, by Nigel Williamson, is a superb buy for £7.99 ($12.99), or less. It contains over 380 pages and covers The Life, The Music, The Movies and Dylanology. If you are a newcomer to Bob you need this book, and even for seasoned Bob watchers like myself, it contains many insights on the man. It includes reviews of all his albums, movies, books about him, and fanzines. Only one article so far has annoyed me: why did Sinead Lohan's version of To Ramona finish outside the top ten Dylan songs covered by other people?
