UK Music Hall Of Fame

TV channel C4 is currently screening UK Music Hall Of Fame, a new series of 5 x 2 hour programmes broadcast on Sunday evenings, 2100-2300 BST. A panel of music biz bigwigs has picked ten poprock musicians from each decade, from which viewers will choose one per decade to join the inaugural Hall Of Fame.

The Nominations for the 1990s are:
 Oasis,
 Nirvana,
 Robbie Williams,
 Blur,
 Dr Dre,
 Spice Girls,
 Prodigy,
 Radiohead,
 Red Hot Chili Peppers,
 Missy Elliott.

They also chose five "Founder Members" -
 Elvis,
 Beatles,
 Madonna,
 Bob Marley and
 U2.

Hmm. Musicians for Grown-Ups in that lot? Not many:
 Bob Marley
 Nirvana,
 Dr Dre,
 Radiohead.

Elvis and the Beatles? Both on the borderline.

It's a rewarding series, though, with handy introductions to some unfamiliar acts.
