22/09/2004 Dylan's autobiography and new lyrics collection imminent
The flood of Bob Dylan books continues unabated, and next month sees the publication of the most important volumes in the Dylan library. Bar none. Chronicles Volume One, the first part of Dylan's autobiography, is set to become a global best-seller. Lyrics 1962-2001, replacing two earlier collections, now well out of date/print, will be warmly welcomed by all those who regard Dylan as a major writer. Both books are guaranteed maximum exposure, but my retailer of choice will be a small operation recently spun off from Judas! magazine, Woodstock Books, which has a splendid and growing range of Dylan/porock titles. Both books are available for pre-order from Woodstock Books: both are due to be published on 12 October, but Woodstock says it is is hopeful of having stock prior to publication date.
