Gigs from Heaven

The great musicians just keep coming: I've seen some memorable gigs in the last few months, from the jazz-inflected vocals of Cassandra Wilson to the other-worldly majesty of Bach's B Minor Mass, in all its raging glory.

July 2: Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Dave Holland, Barbican

September 24: Bartoli (Salieri recital), Barbican

October 5: Cowboy Junkies, St Albans Arena

21: Waterboys, Reading Hexagon

25: L'Incoronazione di Poppea (Sofie von Otter), Barbican

Such an array of world-class talent would be difficult to better. Thank You, Lord.

In tomorrow's Daily Update: why I'll be avoiding Dylan, Van the Man, Glastonbury, Glyndebourne and all those other awful outdoor gigs this summer.
