Chuck Berry: more on the UK tour

John F. Miller (US) writes:

Regarding reader feedback of the Jerry Lee Lewis/Chuck Berry concert tour:

The one and only time I have seen Chuck Berry live was at a local music festival back in 1989. It was a miserable experience. Supported by local musicians, Berry played for 50 minutes. To add insult to injury, the audience was treated to an extended workout of "My Ding-A-Ling."

Atrocious. One of the worst concerts I have ever experienced.

(I'd be pleased to publish any reader reviews of the Berry/Lewis tour. My own view is that both were outstanding popular musicians, with important legacies. However, I'm not interested in seeing them perform live today - the only purpose would be nostalgia. More positive views will be welcomed.

Gerry Smith, Editor.)
