Bio
Since 2003 Christopher has collaborated with his partner, Matilda Tumim,
and their three children, Josh, Theo and Erlend, under the collaborative name
of
Christil Trumpet.
Since moving to Orkney in 1989, Christopher, while maintaining his art practice, has not sought to exhibit his creative output until recently when he and Matilda formed Christil Trumpet.
Christopher has been working in various care settings around Orkney since 1997 - working initially with the elderly and more recently with children with special needs. He now works with young adults in supported accommodation.
Christopher considers his care work and his HNC in Social Care at Orkney College as having made a significant contribution to both the content and the way in which he approaches his art practice.
During 2003 Christil Trumpet made a wave installation in their studio, which was created out of family paraphernalia. This installation, Wave, included some of the detailed drawings, which Christopher has been making since becoming a Social Care Worker.
